Molarity (Concentration)
pH Scale
Chemistry Concepts Explained
1. Molarity (M)
Molarity is the most common way to express the concentration of a solution. It tells you how many moles of solute are present in one liter of solution.
Formula: M = n / V
Where n = Moles of solute, V = Volume of solution (Liters).
2. Ideal Gas Law
This law relates the pressure, volume, quantity, and temperature of an ideal gas.
Formula: PV = nRT
Where P = Pressure (atm), V = Volume (L), n = Moles, R = Gas Constant (0.0821 L·atm/mol·K), T = Temperature (Kelvin).
3. pH (Potential of Hydrogen)
pH is a measure of how acidic or basic a water-based solution is. It ranges from 0 to 14.
Formula: pH = -log[H+]
Where [H+] is the concentration of Hydrogen ions.
